About Haley
My name is Haley and here is a little bit about me:
Once I left high school I went on to study for a diploma in Animal Management Care and finished with triple distinction, with also getting a best practical award out of the whole collage in year 1 and best over all student award in year 2. I then went on and got an apprenticeship with a veterinary group and started my veterinary nurse training. During my training in 2009 I went on a CPD course in South Aftrica to work along side a vet on a game reserve. These are just some of the amazing things I did:
We relocated antelope, darting from a helicopter and then landing to run to a ground crew truck waiting to follow where the antelope would drop off to sleep.
sedated a lioness to insert an implant to stop pregnancy as they wanted to try and control the amount of cubs being born on the game reserve
Stitched up a cheetahs wound and monitored its anaesthetic, also gave eye treatment
Relocated a white rhino to a different location and inserted an intravenous catheter into its ear vein to give it intravenous fluids to help hydrate it as it had been having diarrhoea.
The list goes on…
I then qualified to be a veterinary nurse in 2010 and have worked mostly in as busy hospital doing out of hours emergency care. In 2013 I had my first child and in 2017 I had my second child so in that time and decided first opinion practice was for me.
I have a history of breeding Bedlington terriers as I showed them and made it to crufts! Than I decided to start to cat breed as cats have always had a soft spot in my heart and I developed a love of spots from Africa so here we are!
In 2018 I started a Certificate In Advance Feline Behaviour, this is because I have a real interest in cat behaviour and I can deeply relate it to my own cats. My plan in the future is to become a cat Behaviourist so I can help cats and their owners. My course is an intense two year course and I am
really enjoying the work so far
